We decided to link the iTunes library to the ddj library to extend its functionality. iTunes2ddj is an import tool that simply scrapes* information from iTunes playlists. When an iTunes playlist is selected it loads to a display grid for optional editing before importing. Selecting an iTunes playlist, editing it if desired, and importing it to a ddj playlist is accomplished in a matter of seconds.
Imported Playlists contain much of the iTunes music information as well as additional ddj control fields. After importing an iTunes playlist you will have additional and enhanced control of functions like playback rate, start and stop points, song limits, video attachments, marquee info. etc.**
iTunes2ddj is a music library loading tool that works especially well for DJs and music lovers synching iPods and iPhones to their computers. Playlists and most playlist information can be identical on the users computer and remote player or selectively different. ITunes2ddj can load any music, video or other file types that iTunes has placed on a playlist and will not alter your playlists when music is temporarily removed from your computer.
Usage* No iTunes playlists are harmed, distressed or altered in any manner in this process.
** ddj Suite of players are based on the Windows Media Player (WMP)and can not play m4a or other proprietary music without special considerations. Some iTunes protected (DRM'd) music will also not be playable by WMP. In these cases some ddj players can sometimes use the iTunes player to transparently play this music though some functionality such as playback rate control will not available.
